Allison Rose was a vibrant college student who was diagnosed with a peanut allergy at a young age. Her allergy persisted into adulthood without any severe reactions. However, tragedy struck while she was a freshman in college, when she accidentally ingested something to which she was allergic, developed a severe, anaphylactic reaction and passed away just a few days later. Her family turned tragedy into purpose with the creation of the
Allison Rose Foundation (ARF), a 501(c)3 dedicated to changing the lives food allergy families through education, awareness, research and advocacy. 1 in 13 children live with a food allergy. They continue to be misunderstood and education is crucial. If proper food allergy education is put in place, everyone will be properly informed and prepared to understand, recognize and effectively support a severe food allergy, and manage a life-threatening reaction. ARF offers FREE allergist-driven, evidence-based food allergy education to schools, universities and organizations—encouraging and increasing safety—and taught and trained by a team of firefighters, paramedics and medical professionals.
